Truck Fire On N.J. Turnpike

A tractor-trailer overturned on the northbound NJ Turnpike just south of exit 69 Wednesday morning.

The truck quickly caught fire. Fire crews were on the scene trying to extinguish the flames at about 5:20 a.m.

The driver of the truck was reportedly trying to get onto the express lanes towards the George Washington Bridge when the truck overturned in Ridgefield Park.

The express lanes were closed for several hours. By late morning, all lanes were reopened, but the ramp to Route 80 eastbound remained closed. The truck was still on the roadway.

Traffic delays increased as commuters turned to Route 46 to get to the George Washington Bridge.
