Officials say a car plunged into theHudson River this morning after crashing through a fence along a pedestrian walkway.

It happened around 10 a.m. near 94th Street along the Henry Hudson Parkway. Officials say a woman was found floating near the river wall about two blocks north of where the car had crashed.

The FDNY threw a life ring into the river and an officer with emergency services jumped in and helped the woman who was then pulled from the water, officials said. She was then taken to St. Luke's Hospital.

1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reports that the woman may have been involved in some sort of a wreck on the Henry Hudson that caused to her veer off the road.

Authorities were searching for a second person, but no one was found.

Crews have pulled the car out of the water, but police boats are patrolling the river. Traffic is also backed up near 94th Street.
