City Correction Bus Overturns On Thruway; No Serious Injuries Reported



The New York City Department of Correction says a bus that was transporting 16 prisoners and three staff members to a facility in Ulster County overturned this morning on the New York State Thruway.

The DOC says the bus was heading north on Interstate 87 when the accident occurred
around 10:30 a.m. in Ramapo. N.Y.

The inmates had been jailed in the city temporarily for court appearances.

All inmates and staff were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in nearby Suffern for treatment.

North-bound lanes of the Thruway remain closed at exit 14.
