Body Found After Fire Breaks Out In UES Subway Station


Police are investigating after a man's body was discovered Sunday night following a fire in a Manhattan subway station.

Police and firefighters answered a call of a fire inside an abandoned room at the Lexington Avenue/63rd Street station around 9 p.m.

After putting out the flames, firefighters discovered the unidentified man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the victim was badly burned and may have been homeless.

There's no word yet on what sparked the fire.
