Investigators say a woman was shot to death early Sunday as she sat outside her own home in South Ozone Park, Queens and police are still searching for the shooter.
Sandra Bajnath, 39, was shot in the torso on 135th Street around 5:30 a.m. and died on the scene.
A 26-year-old man was also shot in the back and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
A family friend, Annie Shiwram, said Bajnath was on her porch with her husband when someone began firing.
"I heard there was an altercation where they went out and they came back home between the hours of 5 and 5:30 this morning. They were sitting on the front porch when two guys in a car came by and just started shooting," said Shiwram.
"They're a loving couple, very loving people. It's a tragedy this situation happened," said neighbor David Wright.
By Sunday afternoon no arrests had been made.
