Police are investigating after an off-duty Rikers Island correction officer was shot outside a Queens diner Monday night.
Investigators say the 28-year-old was arguing with a man believed to be her ex-boyfriend around 10:30 p.m.while at the USA diner on Merrick Boulevard in Rosedale.
Soon after she was shot in the stomach, allegedly by that man.
Police say he fled the scene in a white BMW.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital where her condition is described as stable.
