Suspected Drunk Driver Slams Into S.I. Home, Seriously Injures Two


A Staten Island woman and her 5-year-old daughter were seriously injured this morning after a car slammed into their home.

Police say it happened just after 4 a.m. at the intersection of Arthur Kill Road and Lee Avenue in Tottenville.

Sources say the 40-year-old woman and her daughter were sleeping at the time.

They were rushed to Staten Island North University Hospital in serious condition.

Police say the 22-year-old driver lost control of the white four-door Hyundai Elantra.

Sources say he is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.

He has been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
