Thousands of officers were in attendance, joining Figoski's family and friends at the 11 a.m. funeral at St. Joseph's Church in Babylon.

Montauk Highway is closed in both directions from Little East Neck Road to Deer Park Avenue until 2 p.m. Deer Park Avenue will be closed southbound from Park Avenue to Montauk Highway.
Figoski's was a dedicated father of four girls and a dedicated officer who patrolled the streets of Brooklyn's 75th Precinct for 22 years. He was shot and killed last monday while responding to a break-in.
"He had a grin that quiet confidence about him that makes you feel like to was going to be all right … no matter how bad it was," said fellow officer Ricky Giordano.
Giordano is one of hundreds of people who attended Figoski's wake over the weekend.
"He just helped everybody. He was just sweet, raised his family like that. He will be missed," said family friend Liz Mihalik.
Figoski's accused killer Lamont Pride and four alleged accomplices were formally charged with murder Friday.
