Police in Garfield, New Jersey say they shot an escaped prisoner.
Authorities say he broke loose from police headquarters Saturday afternoon.
Officers opened fire on him about a half mile away, wounding him.
He's being treated at a local hospital.Two officers involved in the shooting were also taken to the hospital, but are not seriously injured.
The suspect was being held after a domestic violence incident.
