Police are investigating a shooting and stabbing inside a Manhattan apartment building this morning that left two men dead,

It happened just before 11 a.m. inside the Robert Fulton Houses located at 413 West 16th Street in Chelsea.

Sources say a 29-year-old man was found in a sixth floor apartment with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

A 20-year-old man was found in the building's elevator with with gunshot and stab wounds.

He was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Sources say the altercation could have stemmed from a love triangle.

It's also unclear whether the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

"I'm very scared because I just came out of my house and I see all the blood in the elevator and I heard all the noise. It never happened before in this building, anything like this. This is incredible," said one building resident.
