Off-Duty Officer Shot



A an off-duty law enforcement officer was shot in Brooklyn Monday afternoon.

Medics responded to the shooting scene at Ashford Street and Linden Boulevard in East New York at about 4:10 p.m., FDNY EMS said.

The officer, a 38-year-old woman, was in her car in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant when some men opened fire, she was caught in a crossfire, and hit in the arm by a stray round.

Responders rushed the woman to Kings County Hospital for treatment. She was awake and alert, according to radio transmissions.

The NYPD has mobilized a number of officers to track down what they believe are two shooters.
