Pair Arrested For Drug Laced Candy



A father and daughter were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on the New York State Thruway on Monday. The pair is accused of hauling a massive load of pot-laced candy in their car.

The New York State Police say that a trooper stopped the car in the town of Coxackie in Greene County for some sort of traffic violation.

The trooper found more than a pound of marijuana in the car and approximately 40 pounds of hard candy that was laced with concentrated cannabis. The candy pieces were packaged in bags by flavor, including butter rum, cherry, coffee, guava, orange, pomegranate, root beer and sour apple.

Police arrested Gary D. Fox, 48, of Reading, Mass. and Kayla D. Fox, 24, of New York City.

Both face drug charges. They were arraigned in Catskill and sent to the Green County Correctional Facility on $15,000 bail.
