The New York City Police Department and FBI searched Friday for an armed robber who has become increasingly violent.
The suspect, dubbed by investigators the "Snub-Nose Bandit" because his weapon of choice is a silver, snub-nose revolver, is connected to at least six incidents in Brooklyn and Queens dating back to September.
He mostly targets banks, but in his first robbery he held up a Dunkin Donuts in Greenpoint, firing one round into a tray of donuts as he demanded cash from the register.
The following month he hit a Capital One bank in Brooklyn at gunpoint.
In December, he held up an HSBC bank in Queens, where police say he also fired a shot but did not hit anyone.
During January he struck a Sovereign bank in Jackson Heights and a Chase bank on Hillside Avenue in Queens.
In his most recent robbery on March 2 at an Apple Bank on Flushing Avenue in Williamsburg, police say he shoved a woman away from the teller's window before demanding cash.
The FBI say the robber uses livery cabs as a getaway car.
Police describe the suspect as about 35 years old, 5-feet-5-inches to 5-feet-7-inches tall and between 150 to 190 pounds.
