A woman was arrested Friday after trying to sneak a stun gun through a checkpoint at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The Transportation Security Administration says Port Authority police arrested the woman after an officer spotted the stun gun/flashlight combination tool, which is about as long as a pen, in her carry-on bag.
The woman was trying to board a flight to Orlando.
She is facing a state charge.
The TSA reminds travelers that some weapons are permitted in checked baggage, but they should call their airlines first before bringing them to the airport.
Prohibited items are also listed on the TSA's website at tsa.gov.
