A former New York City police officer convicted of shooting his estranged wife will spend 20 years in state prison. A State Supreme Court sentenced Darryl Fowler, 44, of Amityville. Fowler pleaded guilty in May to attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and other charges. On October 20, 2009 Fowler entered Michelle Fowler's home on Dorado Court in Middle Island, shot her, and fled the scene in his SUV, sideswiping the ambulance that was responding to the call for aid at the Fowler residence. |
