police veteran, died after his police vehicle struck a tractor-trailer



Maryland State Trooper 1st Class Shaft S. Hunter, 39, an 11-year police veteran, died after his police vehicle struck a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of I-95 South near the Laurel rest area.A witness explained that it appeared as though Trooper Shaft was pursuing a speeding motorcycle moments before he crashed.

Trooper Hunter lived in Baltimore County and worked out of Barrack A, located in Jessup, Maryland.He served his Country in the Marine Corps and attained the rank of Captain.

Sadly, Trooper Hunter is survived by a wife and six children, who are between the ages of 4 and 19.
