An investigation is under way after a garbage truck slammed into a Brooklyn storefront early Tuesday morning, injuring three people.
Police say the truck slammed into the vacant store at Bedford and Myrtle Avenues in Clinton Hill just before 3 a.m.
The apartment building next door was slightly damaged but was not evacuated.
Three people were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
It's still not clear what caused the truck to hit the storefront, but fire officials say the situation would have been much worse later in the day.
"If it was rush hour it could be bad. You know, a couple of hours earlier we had a little ice in the streets too so that could have been a problem but that all cleared up also. I don't think the weather had any effect on this. We don't know what happened," said FDNY Battalion Chief John Rozas.
The truck was eventually towed away from the storefront.
