One person was killed this morning following a fiery accident on a Queens highway, which was possibly fueled by New Year's Eve drinking.
Officials say the accident happened just after 5 a.m. on the Long Island Expressway.
Police sources say a car was rear-ended near the Maurice Avenue exit, causing it to flip over and catch on fire.
The driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sources say the driver of the second vehicle was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in police custody.
Police are awaiting a blood-alcohol test to determine if the driver was over the legal alcohol limit.
