Brooklyn - FDNY truck collide, 11 injured




One fire engine collided with another FDNY truck in Brooklyn this morning, injuring 11 firefighters, authorities said.

The collision happened around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue J and East 103rd Street in Canarsie, officials said. One of the engines smashed through a resident's brick wall, but no civilians were immediately reported to be injured.

Four firefighters suffered serious injuries, while seven with listed with minor wounds, according to an FDNY spokesman. All of the injured firefighters were taken to Kings County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the FDNY said.
