Woman Critically Hurt When Struck by Car in BK

A 19-year-old woman was critically injured when she was hit by a car in Brooklyn Thursday evening, authorities said.

The woman was struck near 72-03 5th Ave. in Bay Ridge, just steps away from her home, according to a witness who knows the victim's family.

The witness said an SUV and an ambulette collided, and one of the vehicles jumped the curb and hit the victim.

The drivers stayed on the scene. They are not expected to be charged.

The 19-year-old woman was transported to Lutheran Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.
