MIDTOWN — Dozens of firefighters rushed to Macy's Herald Square Wednesday afternoon to battle a fire in the iconic department store, officials said.
The 911 call for the blaze in the basement of the chain's flagship store, located at 151 W. 34th St., at 3:15 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.
There were no injuries immediately reported.
Fire officials said there were 60 firefighters from 12 units on scene about 30 minutes after the fire started.
